The microscope is a standard metallurgical microscope with a single x10 objective and a single x10 eyepiece lens (x100 magnification). It is fitted with a 1-micron resolution digital micrometer stage with a special adapter to hold the HFR upper specimen holder in two positions to allow easy measurement of the X and Y wear scar dimensions. Various options are also available such as extra objectives for higher magnification, wear scar measurement camera etc.
